Cyprus total exports, amounted €1.5 billion in November 2016, recording a 0% increase compared to the January – November 2015 period, according to Eurostat`s first estimate. A €0.7 billion or -10% decrease is registered for intra UE trade and, €0.8 billion or 11% increase is registered for extra EU trade.
Meanwhile total imports amounted €5.3 billion or a 15% increase since the previous year, €4.0 billion intra EU or 17% increase and 1.3 billion outside the EU, or a 9% increase.
These numbers add up to a negative trade balance of -€3.8 billion total, -€3.2 intra EU and -€0.5 on extra EU trade .
According to the same first estimates, the euro area recorded a €25.9 bn surplus in trade in goods with the rest of the world in November 2016, compared with +€22.9 bn in November 2015.
Meanwhile the EU28 recorded a €6.9 bn surplus in trade in goods with the rest of the world in November 2016, compared with +€5.7 bn in November 2015.
